Tarteel Course

Tarteel means “Recitation.” It is used in al-Qur’an in Surah Muzammil, verse 4, as Allah(TA) instructs the Prophet (peace be upon him) saying “Wa rattilil qur’aana tarteelaa”, “and recite the Qur’an in slow measured rhythmic tones”. The Arabic word for “slow, measured rhythmic tones” is tarteel. Tarteel is the term used to define the rules that explain how to recite the Qur’an in the way and manner that the angel Jibreel (AS) used in “Wahi” to our beloved prophet (peace be upon him). Tajweed meaning “improving” or “making something better” indicates that it is a means of beautifying the recitation of Quran. It is much slower than Tarteel. While praying, we recite with TARTEEL, not TAJWEED
